The Longford based architect behind a major new housing project in Athlone says he's hopeful inflation may have steadied somewhat before the project is ready to start.
Mark Cunningham, is director with Avenir Homes, the company which will build 60 houses, 62 residential apartments, and 46 student apartments on an 11 acre site close to the TUS Athlone campus in the midlands town.
An Bord Pleanala granted permission for the project this week through the strategic Housing Development mechanism which permits larger schemes apply directly to it.
The Longford architect says while there is a very challenging climate for construction right now he's hopeful the situation may have calmed a little before the actual start of building.
