Local Gardaí are urging the public to be aware of the dangers of drug driving following multiple detections in the Shannonside Region in the last number of weeks.
The most recent incident saw Longford Roads Policing Unit stop two motorists at a multi agency checkpoint on the N5 outside of the town yesterday.
Following a roadside drugs test, the drivers of two vehicles were found to have cannabis in their systems

In conjunction with the Road Safety Authority, local Gardaí also seized a vehicle after it was found to be displaying a fraudulent insurance disc.
The drivers of the vehicles now face a court date.
