Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred at a house in Athlone this week. The incident occurred on Thursday morning at around 4am in the St. Peter's Terrace area. Gardaí have confirmed they arrested two men in their 20's today in connection with their investigation.
They are currently being detained at a Garda Station in Co. Westmeath. A male teenager and a woman in her 50s were brought to Portiuncula University Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening at the time. A technical examination of the scene was conducted and investigations are ongoing.
