The Garda Roster is top of today's agenda for the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors Annual Delegate Conference.
Members have accused Garda Commissioner Drew Harris of trying to impose a roster without agreement, and have concerns around health and welfare.
The Commissioner, and Justice Minister Simon Harris, will address the conference in Galway.
Antoinette Cunningham - the AGSI's General Secretary - says the association and Commissioner Harris want to take two very different routes when it comes to the roster.
''Unfortunately as of last week we are no nearer to finding a resolution on the rostering issue which is extremely regrettable, AGSI are still seeking to engage in negotiations however the commissioner is fixed on his view that the matter should go before the WRC to try and find a solution however entering into the WRC is premature in our view and we believe more can be gained from local negotiations.''
