A Boyle resident is condemning the actions of people who've recently vandalised the public toilets provided by Roscommon County Council at Doon Shore on Lough Key.

The area is located between Lough Key Activity Park and the town of Boyle and has been used for decades as a popular local swimming spot.

Sean O'Dowd says the council has done excellent work in recent years with new kerbing and a regular litter service, as well as the provision of public toilets.

He says he was very disappointed to see in recent days that some people have seen fit to cause damage to the toilets and make them unusable for everyone else who wants to enjoy the area.
