Roscommon County Councillors say fishing permit requirements on the River Suck are causing major damage to local tourism.
The issue was highlighted at this weeks meeting of Roscommon Council by Councillor Anthony Waldron
He urged the local authority to liaise with Inland Fisheries Ireland the withdraw the need for the permit.

Councillors claim the requirement of a legacy permit to fish the river is driving anglers and fishing tourism away from the area.
