They say they were forced to stay in the caravan because they had to leave their rental home last February.

A family of eight who have been living in a one-bedroom caravan in Ballinasloe over a year, have finally been offered a council house. Their caravan has no heating, electricity or running water, and the children are aged between 5 and 16. They say they were forced to stay in the caravan because they had to leave their rental home last February.

Husband and wife, Martin and Margaret Corcoran, recently spoke about their ordeal. Martin says he was delighted to get a breakthrough today:
