Excitement is building in Longford with local athlete Cian McPhillips set to compete for a medal in tomorrow's Men's 800m final at the World Athletics Championships.
McPhillips won his semi-final in Tokyo yesterday to qualify for his first ever World final.
The Ardagh native also broke the national record, in a time of 1:43.18 seconds.
