A Sinn Féin TD has highlighted the Shannonside region as a hub for rising rent costs.
Donegal TD Pearse Doherty pinpointed Fine Gael's policies as the reason for rising rent prices in Leitrim and Longford.
He said the Residential Tenancies Board figures confirm that rents are out of control.

The figures revealed that Leitrim rents are up 16%, and in Longford they are up 14%.
He told the Dáil that the figures are 'shameful':
