Landowners in and around Tulsk will soon have a better idea of how much land is going to be required for the N61 Tulsk to Clashaganny realignment project.

A meeting of Roscommon County Council has heard that design team work is continuing on the 4km stretch of road from immediately north of Tulsk village to Clashaganny.

The project was identified as a key priority for Roscommon County Council in 2017 and the emerging route was put on display to the public in April of this year.

Director of Services for Roads and Transport Shane Tiernan told members of Roscommon County Council at this month's meeting that technical and environmental surveys are currently being undertaken within the preferred route corridor.

This work will develop the road design to a sufficient level of detail to identify the land take requirement for the project.
