County Leitrim has recorded the fewest Covid cases in Ireland in the last two weeks. No new instances of coronavirus were recorded in the county

County Leitrim has recorded the fewest Covid cases in Ireland in the last two weeks.

No new instances of coronavirus were recorded in the county yesterday - the only area in Ireland to be Covid negative despite the third wave now sweeping the country.

In the 14 days up to December 21st, just nine Covid cases were recorded in the county - in Longford fewer than five Covid cases were recorded last night - with 57 in the last two weeks.

Roscommon also had fewer than five Covid cases on Tuesday - with 31 cases in the last fortnight.

The 14-day Covid incidence rate in Roscommon and Leitrim is well below the national average of 122.4 at 51 and 28,.

However, Longford's rate is still above the average at 141.9.
