The bus shelter along with other town-improvement works cost €740,000.

Councillors in Carrick on Shannon have asked for works to be carried out to improve a bus shelter along the N4.

Councillors Irene Guckian Rabbitte, Sean McGowan and Paddy Farrell brought motions forward to this mornings Carrick on Shannon Municipal District meeting, calling for works to be carried out at the bus shelter opposite the Landmark Hotel.

It was confirmed that the Roads Department have requested design consultants to carry out a review and recommend design modifications.

Fianna Fáil Cllr Sean McGowan says the shelter isn’t adequate during the winter months:
