A Roscommon councillor says its important people engage with the public consultation process around major developments. Cllr Laurence Fallon says the system is in place for a reason but there must be 'buy in'. There's been controversy around a number of public realm enhancement projects in Roscommon towns recently, including Ballaghaderreen and Strokestown.
At this week's meeting of Athlone Municipal District, members were also informed of feedback from the public regarding road improvement works near Monksland. Safety works are planned at a junction on the R366 and a number of submissions have been received in relation to traffic concerns.
