Garda resources in the Granard area of Longford area are soon to be increased by three.

The news came at this week's meeting of the Longford Joint Policing Committee from Chief Superintendent Tony Healy.

The Garda Chief said the force has been putting a lot of effort into policing and monitoring criminal behaviour linked to feuding gangs in the county and he's happy they've been given the go ahead to increase numbers attached to Granard.
