Breegeen Monaghan from Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, celebrated her 100th birthday on polling day but took time out to cast her vote in the local school.
Breegeen is pictured with daughters Bernadette, Ann and Marese Monaghan, and sons Aidan and Brendan Monaghan.
Polls remain open until 10pm tonight and voting has been steady despite the weather conditions.
