The Bishop of Achonry has said the true meaning of Christmas has never been more important than it is this year.
Bishop Paul Dempsey extended a warm welcome and prayers to those returning to Ireland for the festive season and those ill in hospital.
He said the holiday is a celebration of the birth of Jesus and is a reminder to us all to extend a warm welcome to those fleeing conflict.
