A student garda was hospitalised after being struck while trying on patrol in Dublin on Wednesday.

Calls have been made for dedicated pursuit training for Gardaí to deal with e-scooters and scramblers.

That's after a student garda was hospitalised after being struck while trying on patrol in Dublin on Wednesday.

A teenager was subsequently stopped and a quantity of cannabis was seized- the boy was arrested but has since been released.

New legislation, known as Grace’s Law was introduced in April, which banned the use of scramblers in public places.
