Assault convictions at Longford Court were highest in the first nine months of this year.

No assault convictions were brought to Manorhamilton court.

Longford District Court saw the highest number of people convicted for assaults in the first nine months of the year.

Freedom of Information figures released by the courts service to Shannonside FM reveal 27 people were found guilty of assault at courts across Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon.

11 people were convicted at Longford District Court for assault between January 1st and September 31st 2022.

In Roscommon a total of 11 people were found guilty of assault during the same period.

This included two each at Castlerea and Ballaghaderreen district courts, five in Roscommon town and two at Strokestown court.

No convictions in relation to assault were brought forward at Manorhamilton district courts while five people were convicted at Carrick-on-Shannon for the offence.
