The Ashling Murphy murder trial is into the closing stages. Jozef Puska, who’s 33 and with an address at Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, Co Offaly, denies murdering the 23-year-old school teacher in Tullamore on January 12th 2022.
It's alleged Jozef Puska confessed to murdering Ashling Murphy and did so at a level of detail which only he would have known. He denies murder, claiming that he was stabbed by a man in a surgical mask who then went on to kill Ms Murphy, and he was a witness to it.
The jury of 9 men and 3 women is to hear from one more defence witness this morning. It's anticipated that the prosecution and defence will then present their closing arguments.
