Almost €100,000 allocated to local Tidy Towns groups

Almost 100,000 euro has been allocated to Tidy Towns groups across the Shannonside region.

Grants of between 1,000 and 4,000 euro have been awarded to each group to promote green spaces, parks and biodiversity.

County Roscommon received the highest amount locally with 35,000 euro to be divided amongst 28 groups.

33,000 euro will be given out between 27 tidy towns committees in Longford while Leitrim received 22,000 euro divided between 17 groups.
