An air ambulance serving part of the Shannonside region is expected to be fully operational by September. It's based at the site of the former Sligo Airport in Strandhill.
When operational, it will allow for faster response and transfer times for patients and hospitals. Local Cllr Gary Prior believes it would have wide-ranging benefits locally:
