The replacement of the roof on Sligo Hospital's orthopaedic theatre has gone to tender.
There have been several leaks in the facility in recent years - leading to surgeries being postponed.
The theatre was temporarily closed for eight days in April due to the latest leak.

Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny recently described it in the Dáil as the worst resourced orthopaedic ward in the country.
