A large crowd will gather in Carrick-on-Shannon today for the funeral of a widely respected Traveller and tinsmith.
Glowing tributes have been paid to Tom Stokes since he passed away at the age of 88 earlier this week.
Tom Stokes was a very popular man in Carrick during his long life.
He was one of the last tinsmiths in Ireland, known for his great skill.
He was also known for his pride in Traveller culture.
He's survived by his 19 children, and was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary.
As well as his 19 children, he also has grand-children, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchilden.
He was much-loved across the five generations of his family.
He died on Tuesday and his funeral will take place today in St Mary's Church, Carrick-on Shannon, at 12 o'clock, with burial afterwards in St Mary's Cemetery nearby.
