The wife of a Roscommon resident, in jail in Iraq, is making an emotional appeal for his release today – on the fourth anniversary of his arrest. Robert Pether has been in prison since 2021 because of a contract dispute between his employer and the Iraqi government.
He’s in bad health, but could be in jail there for another 15 years. His wife, Desree, lives in Elphin with their family. She has been speaking to Eoghan Murphy, who first asked her about this day four years ago.
