Year-long wait for planning decision on controversial Roscommon wind farm

A total of 11 turbines, measuring 185 metres tall, are planned for Frenchpark and Ballinagare.

It will be nearly a year before it's decided whether a controversial Co Roscommon wind farm gets planning permission.

A total of 11 turbines, measuring 185 metres tall, are planned for Frenchpark and Ballinagare.

Roscommon County Council is against the plan - fearing it could affect Rathcroghan Archaeological Complex.

An Coimisiun Pleanála isn't due to decide whether to grant it planning permission until April 29th, 2027.

Local Independent councillor Valerie Byrne is strongly against it:
