Work is ongoing to prepare rural Ireland for major storms in the future.
That's according to Minister Dara Calleary, who says every effort is being made to secure mobile generators for local counties.
It follows confirmation recently that local authorities would have to wait until the new year to source them.
Councillors in Leitrim also expressed their frustration with news that just three generators would be available for each county.
