Work on a new respite home in Carrick-on-Shannon for families of adults with disabilities is set to start in the coming weeks. The respite centre will be situated in Autumn View in the town. The long-mooted project follows confirmation that renovation works have commenced on a residential facility in Fenagh.
They are expected to be completed by next spring. Cllr Gary Prior says it represents a €2 million investment in south Leitrim. He's welcomed the news, saying it's a major step forward for the county:
