The death has been announced of former Westmeath County Councillor Kieran Molloy.
Mr Molloy was a member of the Fianna Fail party and also served on the Athlone town Council.
Longford Westmeath TD Robert Troy has led tributes to the Westmeath native remembering him as a strong advocate for those who needed a voice and as some one who was respected across the political divide for his ability and sincerity.

Kieran will laid to rest on Thursday in Kiltoom cemetery following requeim mass in Saints Peter and Pauls church at 11am.
