A weather warning for the Shannonside area has been downgraded as the risk of thunderstorms has fallen. There's now a Status Yellow Rain warning in place for most of the region, including Leitrim and Roscommon. Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, and Sligo are also impacted by the latest warning. A similar warning is in place for Leinster and Waterford until 6 o'clock tonight.
It's valid until 9 o'clock tonight with heavy rain and the chance of isolated thunderstorms. Motorists are advised the conditions will lead to poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions. Heavy rainfall may also lead to some localised flooding in places.
