One of Anthony Waldron's biggest supporters is welcoming the news Michael Holland Senior is set to replace him on Roscommon council. Four candidates were nominated to take the Independent's seat - Monksland's Ernie Draper, Donamon's Mairead Kenny, along with Ballintubber pair Michael Holland Senior and Gail Murray. The 17 councillors in Roscommon will formally decide the outcome on Monday, but the race is effectively over. The 12-person alliance that controls the council is backing Holland - and Waldron supporter, Mary Joyce, says he's an ideal replacement:
