It remains to be seen if catering services will return on local rail journeys. In August, Irish Rail said it's working on funding to restore the services. The travel company says it has a preferred supplier to operate the food and drink carts.
The tea trolley has made a comeback in other parts of the country, after it was pulled at the start of the Covid pandemic. Local Labour Senator Nessa Cosgrove says priority must be given to local trips:
