Two trans-women in Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim, have revealed they have received death threats and other transphobic abuse. Lenore Taylor and Meryl McGowan have also strongly criticised the National Gender Service in Loughlinstown in Dublin.
They say many transgender people are left languishing on healthcare waiting lists for several years. Lenore and Meryl say they are often targeted in their communities because they are transwomen:
