Gardaí have confirmed that two people were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Kilsallagh, Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford this afternoon.
The extent of their injuries is not known.
The collision is said to have taken place around half past two this afternoon and led to long traffic tailbacks on the N4 this evening.

Material damage was caused to both vehicles.
Gardai say enquiries are ongoing.
