Two students from the Shannonside region have been elected to represent the region in a national students' union.
St Mel's College third-year student Christopher Erhagbe and Patricija Rybakova, a student of Athlone Community College have been elected as Regional Officers of the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union (ISSU).
The ISSU is the national representative body for second-level students in the Republic and both teenagers are hopeful of working alongside local TDs and County Councillors in their term, and also to grow the popularity of the ISSU in the Shannonside region .
