Tributes paid to Carrick-on-Shannon's Angus Dunne

He was synonymous for his role with the Breffni Players.

Tributes are being paid to Carrick-on-Shannon's Angus Dunne, who passed away earlier this week.

The late Mr Dunne was 100 years old when he passed away on Tuesday, surrounded by his family.

He was synonymous for his role with the Breffni Players and along with Anne Maxwell introduced musicals to Carrick-on-Shannon Community School.

An honorary life member of Carrick Rowing Club, he retired from the club only two years ago.

Survived by his wife Breda, sons John and Alan, daughters Evelyn and Ailbhe, his funeral mass will take place at St Mary's Church in Carrick-on-Shannon at 12 noon.
