Tributes have been paid to a well-known Roscommon businessman following his death. Liam Fleming, owner of Fleming's SuperValu in Roscommon town, passed away peacefully today. Mr Fleming and his wife Lilian first opened Fleming's VG on Main Street in 1972. The shop is now run by his son Shane and his wife Orla and marked fifty-three years in business in May of this year.
Posting on social media, Fleming's SuperValu said Liam's contribution to Roscommon was 'immeasurable'. It said he had provided employment and opportunities to countless young people and would be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues and the wider Roscommon community. Mr Fleming will be reposing at Smyth's Funeral Home, Roscommon tomorrow evening from 6 to 8 pm. His funeral will take place at eleven o'clock on Friday at the Sacred Heart Church followed by burial at St Coman's Cemetary.
