Three presidential candidates as Maria Steen fails in bid to get on ballot paper

Maria Steen has confirmed she hasn't received enough nominations to run for president. The conservative campaigner had received 18 of the 20 required nominations from TDs and senators by the time the deadline passed at midday.

There will be three names on the ballot next month - Catherine Connolly, Heather Humphreys and Jim Gavin. Speaking outside Leinster House, Maria Steen said there's a large portion of the population who feel unrepresented.
