Discussions to secure a new site for Mean Scoil Muire in Longford are at an advanced stage.
It's understood the purchasing of a site by the Department of Education from Longford County Council is progressing well.
That's according to local Senator Michael Carrigy who says funding will be put in place and work on the project will start in the very near future.

Minister Norma Foley, local Oireachtas representatives and school management are due to meet for further discussions in the coming weeks.
Senator Carrigy says he hopes the matter will progress quickly to meet the enrolement demands of Mean Scoil Mhuire.
