Tenders have been opened for major works on the N63 Ballinalee Road Pedestrian & Cycle Active Travel Scheme in Longford.
Active Travel Schemes aim to improve walking and cycling facilities to increase people’s health and reduce carbon emissions.
The project involves the construction of footpaths and cycle paths, as well as alterations to the junctions of side roads.

There will also be the replacement of existing street lighting, installation of underground service ducts, and installation of a Active Travel Schemes on the N63.
A significant upgrade of the road was completed in recent months following major delays in works beginning.
