A 19-year-old man has appeared in court following a serious assault in Longford.
The teenager was charged in connection with an alleged assault which occurred in Ballymahon in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The injured man, who received head injuries, is receiving medical care at Mullingar Hospital where his condition has been described as serious.

The 19-year-old accused appeared at a special sitting of Longford District Court this afternoon where he was granted bail subject to a number of conditions.
He is due back in court in January.
