The road reopened yesterday afternoon.
A man in his 80s was badly injured after being hit by a car on Main Street, Ballymahon, on Monday evening.

The pedestrian was rushed to Tullamore hospital with serious injuries.
The driver, a man in his late teens, was arrested at the scene for the purposes of obtaining an evidential sample.
He has been released pending results of analysis by the Medical Bureau of Road Safety.
