The Tánaiste believes Longford TD Micheál Carrigy will bring common sense and hard work to the Oireachtas Housing Committee. Deputy Carrigy was appointed as the chair of the Oireacthas Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage. The committee scrutinises legislation and policy relating to Housing, Planning and Local Government and works towards removing barriers in the provision of housing.
The Fine Gael Deputy was contacted by Tánaiste Simon Harris yesterday and invited to the role. Speaking to Shannonside FM this morning, Simon Harris says he's looking forward to working with the Longford deputy as part of the new role:
