A status orange fire risk has been issued for counties Leitrim and Longford
The department of Agriculture have advised that due to current weather conditions high fire risk exists in areas where hazardous fuels such as dead grasses, heather and gorse exist.
The warning will remain in place until Tuesday the 6th of June.

Both Leitrim and Longford County Councils are asking the public and forestry owners to be extra vigilant over the bank holiday weekend
