Standing orders were suspended for 15 minutes at this afternoons meeting of Longford County Council. The move was made in solidarity with Gardaí and emergency services following Monday nights double stabbing in the county town.
Two men suffered serious injuries and were hospitalised following the incident. Fine Gael Cllr Niall Gannon says the town and wider county is feeling the effects:
