A south Roscommon charity fund has been providing vital funding for patients at the psychiatric unit at Roscommon University Hospital. The Lecarrow Benevolent Fund says it donates up to 14-hundred euro a year towards essential toiletries. Its chairperson says it has also helped set up a children's unit in Portiuncula University Hospital. Its committee will host a major fundraising auction this Sunday evening in Lecarrow. The fund was established in 2001 and donates money and essential supplies to individuals and groups across Roscommon and further afield. Chairperson Billy Kelly says it has since expanded to support local hospitals:
