Shannonside counties, with no emergency departments, are at a disadvantage when it comes to ambulance care. That's according to Fine Gael senator Gareth Scahill, who was speaking in the Seanad.
He first complimented emergency services for how they dealt with a fire on a train between Dublin and Roscommon last week. But the Castlerea man says there are issues with ambulance care in rural areas:
