A Roscommon solicitor has welcomed news that the Government has committed funding to refurbish Roscommon Courthouse
There have been no court sittings in the historic building for over two years, because of its poor condition.
Sittings have taken place in a temporary courthouse on the Racecourse Road since then.
The news was confirmed following a visit to the courthouse by Minister for the OPW Kevin Boxer Moran yesterday.
Local solicitor Sean Mahon says the reopening of the courthouse will be a boost for the town:
