Over 80 per cent of women referred to urgent breast cancer clinics in University Hospital Galway have not been seen on time this year.
They're supposed to be seen within two weeks.
But this target was achieved only 19 per cent of the time in UHG between January and October, according to The Sunday Times.
UHG says its breast unit is facing significant challenges, including a rise in referrals.
