Seven new EV Recharging Hubs to be provided in the Shannonside region

The news is part of an €8 million grant scheme, delivered by Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

The Minister for Transport has announced that seven new EV Recharging Hubs are set to be provided in the Shannonside region. The announcement is part of a wider plan to build a reliable recharging network across the country, with the distance between recharging hubs to be 60km or less. Five new EV recharging hubs are set to be provided in Co. Roscommon along the N4 and N5. Along the N5, The Westward Service Station in Tarmonbarry, Cosgrove/McGuinness SuperValu in Strokestown, Duffy's SuperValu in Ballaghaderreen and McLoughlins Service Station Ballaghaderreen are all set to receive EV charging points.

Meanwhile, Glancy's SuperValu on the Roscommon side of Carrick on Shannon and the Rosebank Retail Park along the N4 have also been selected. In Longford, the N4 Axis Centre is the only location in the county that is set to gain a new EV recharging hub following today's announcement. The news is part of an €8 million grant scheme, delivered by Transport Infrastructure Ireland. The TII says it's working to address any sections of the road network that could not be covered by this scheme.
