A section of the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramogue bypass will open later today. Transport Minister Darragh O'Brien will cut the ribbon on the 7-kilometre stretch from Ballinagare to Tibohine. It's part of the wider 34-kilometre project which will also bypass Ballinagare, Tulsk and Strokestown.
The newly opened section will see Frenchpark and Sheepwalk bypassed. Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council, Cllr Liam Callaghan feels it's an exciting time:
